“Canopies of oaks and cottonwoods, many festooned with grapevines, overhung both sides of the blue current. Birds chattered in the trees and big fish darted through the pellucid depths. The air was like champagne, and (the Spaniards) drank deep of it, drank in the beauty around them,” is how Spanish explorer Gabriel Moraga described Elk Grove in 1808.
However it took another forty years before Elk Grove was founded in 1850 as a stage stop for travelers coming from Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. At that time the Elk Grove Hotel and Stage Stop were opened by James Hall and the town was named after them. By 1868, the Western Division of the Central Pacific Railroad came through about a mile east of Elk Grove.
Growth was slow until the late 1980s when suburban development projects began to spring up to serve Sacramento’s population, as well as San Francisco commuters seeking a commuting community relatively near the San Francisco Bay Area where they could reside. Vent Glass
Vent windows are auto glass windows that are mounted on the sides of vehicles, usually next to retractable windows. Vent windows differ from quarter glass when they can tilt open. The quarter glass vent window has since gone out of style in automobile design. In the last 20 or so years, almost no vent glasses open on passenger cars.
Another reason that car vent windows have disappeared in newer modeled vehicles is due to fuel efficiency. Many drivers are not putting their windows down and cars are more fuel efficient with side windows up and the air conditioner on.
Quarter Glass
Also called a valance window, a quarter glass window is a side-facing window on a vehicle that is significantly smaller than the standard passenger windows and often serves as an extension of the passenger window either above the rear wheel or next to the side-view mirrors.

If your vehicle has been tinted already there is a charge for removal $150 if it’s in good condition. If the tint is bubbling, fading .or flaking, the charge is $200. Should the tint be very difficult to remove, the fee is $200.
